QLDC Climate Action + Biodiversity Plan Submission

The Queenstown Lakes District Council is looking for feedback on their most recent Climate Action and Biodiversity Plan 2025-2028.

This draft plan is the QLDC’s most ambitious yet, and it’s encouraging to see a strong focus on partnership and community involvement. But while the plan shows clear progress, it still lacks detail, urgency, and accountability in key areas.

To share your feedback on the plan click here. The survey is open until June 27th.

For our outdoor community–who rely on stable climates, healthy ecosystems, and resilient infrastructure–the stakes are especially high. It is crucial we take moments like this where feedback is being welcomed to push for bolder climate action such as clearer emissions targets, stronger adaptation strategies, better urban planning, more investment in low-carbon transport and nature-based solutions.

By speaking up, we can help ensure the plan delivers real, lasting change for people, planet, and the places we love.
