Conservation Volunteers New Zealand and Protect Our Winters are working in conjunction with Christchurch City Council to plant a forest of 40,000 kahikatea trees in a wetland area that will provide stormwater retention services as well as enhancing urban biodiversity.
Meeting point: 103 Philpotts Rd, Mairehau. For more accurate directions, put #63 Philpotts Rd into your GPS.
Join us and Conservation Volunteers New Zealand for this community planting and for a BBQ afterwards.
Please bring your own gardening gloves, and a water bottle, and wear sturdy footwear – gumboots can be helpful.
We’d love to see you there, so please register on Conservation Volunteers New Zealand’s website. Contact Donna (dlusby@cvnz.org.nz) 021 457 568 for more information.
