*RECREATION: Climate change is altering the landsc *RECREATION: Climate change is altering the landscape of the mountain sports we love.

As the frozen elements that maintain the integrity of our mountains shift at an increasing rate, changes are being felt all the way from the tips of our mountains to the rivers in the bottom of our valley floors.

All these shifts are forcing outdoor enthusiasts and businesses to adapt to increased risks and new seasonal conditions—a topic well understood by @sooji_hopes as an alpine climber, skier and mountain guide with @aspiring.guides

Sooji will be joining us in Wanaka on May 8th for our Downstream film screening and panel discussion—join us from 6.30pm at the Community Hub for what’s set to be a great evening! More details in our bio 💙❄️

As rising temperatures cause glaciers to retreat, farmers will face challenges from hydrological alterations caused by climate change and reduced snow cover.

In response to this shifting landscape, many farmers are opting for regenerative agriculture — a practice that helps to regenerate soils, increase biodiversity, improve the water cycle, enhance ecosystem services and support carbon sequestration.

A key figure here in Aotearoa in conservation biology and integrated land management is Prof. em @davidnortonnz — David will be on our panel discussion following the Downstream film screening in Wanaka on May 8th. Featuring in the film himself, join us to learn more about the crucial work David does and ask all your questions!
